low blood platelets

Hey ladies I'm 23 weeks pregnant and I just got out of the emergency room a couple days ago for a kidney infection while I was there they held me longer because I have low blood platelets that really scares me have any of you experienced low platelets? How do I raise my platelets count? It really freaks me out I don't want to bleed out and die lol and they said I might not be able to get an epidural because of it if it doesn't raise

It scares me so bad they kept me for 3 days and told me that if my platelets keep dropping then I can't get an epidural and I'm scared my mom had the same problem and almost bleed out with 2 of her kids :( idk what to do
