inducement. ?

I'm 39+2 today. My doctor told me that if i haven't gone into labor in two days that they'd set up to induce. Honestly i don't see why. I'm not in any sort of risky situation. I see women go a week+ past their due date. Mines the 14th and i don't see why we can't, at least, give it till then. I'm in no rush. The longer she stays in, the more preparation time i have lol. Anyone else feel the same?

If you don't want to be induced then just say no I rather give it another week or two..I'm getting induced the day after my due date if I haven't gone by then but that's bc my husband works out of town a lot and I really wanted my doctor to deliver me if he can..but don't do something if you don't want to, it's your body and your baby!

If there's no medical reason, why are they inducing you.    You're not even at term and for them to say if you're not in labour by 39+4 they'll set up your induction...what is the point.   You shouldn't be induced til your 10-12 days past your EDD, did you ask your Dr why they suggested it?    You're best waiting it out, they cannot force you to be induced, you have a right to say no and that you want to wait til you're past your due date.   It's your body, your choice x

Cause I mean there's like a 2 week window. And 2 weeks is a long time. Are they scared baby will be too big or something

exactly. there's no reason to at least not wait it out some. being induced also puts you at greater risk of having a c section. so I would just let em know that you want to give it a, little more time first. let her do a membrane sweep to see if that helps.

straight up tell her you don't want to be induced unless you hit the 42 week  mark. you don't have to be induced if your not at any risk.

Don't do it I've learned in my pregnancy classes that going the full 40 is better they showed us diagrams of babies brains at 34 weeks and then every week following that and it develops so rapidly each week. We were also taught that it can only mature like that while in the womb. Stick up for yourself and your baby keep her in there as long as you can hun! Kaylee, 18 and 33 weeks pregnant
