We started my son on solids starting with cereal at 5mths under a drs guidance because he had colic. It was a big deal in my mothers group because the guidelines here are 6mths.
I believe with my 1st daughter she didn't eat cereal til 6months or so
It's best to wait longer to introduce foods until their body is more developed and ready to handle foods, around 6 months to a year. Grains are also one of the hardest things to digest, so i would start with fruits, warms soups, and steamed blended veggies. Also if no history of dairy intolerance you can do yogurt and hard boiled eggs.
Yea same for my son. He had 3oz at like 8-8:30 and has been sleeping in his crib since (1:10) now. When he goes more then 5 or 6hrs without eating he'll eat a good 4 to 5oz. I don't want him eating cereal he's still to little for it
I had my daughter April 7 :)
She eats about 4 oz every 3-4 hours if we're just at home. If we're out and about, she'll sometimes go 5 hours without needing to eat. Also my daughter goes to bed at around 9 pm and sleeps until 5 or 6 am.
Her first feeding when she wakes up, she'll eat almost 5 oz.
her pediatrician said she's eating the appropriate amount for her age. Also, the pediatrician said I can introduce cereal, fruits and veggies when she's 4 months old. So personally, I'd wait 1 more month to introduce cereal.
