Swelling after birth

My baby is 4 days old I came home on Thursday and noticed yestersay that my feet, ankles, and hands are swollen what can I do to reduce the swelling or should I go to the er?

Thanks I noticed as I keep my feed elevated and dont do alot of moving around im not swelling but I did call the doctor and thanks and congrats as well.

It's totally normal and can last 2 wks,possibly even 4:-o. Just try to keep elevated and drink plenty of water. I had my baby 9 wks ago and the swelling lasted 2 and a half wks. Good luck and Congrats!

Ive never had that, mines been the opposite where i lose weight and fluid retention. Check your discharge papers they usually have a list of normal symptoms. Id call and just ask, i like to be safe rather than not know for sure. Im guessing u had a vaginal delivery since u went home so quickly? Was ur pregnancy normal, not high risk? Are u urinating still? There is probably a few questions that would determine if its ok to experience swelling. Good luck i hope everything turns out ok, especially since u have ur brand new baby.  Congratulations btw :-)
