over weight cause neg preg test?

Does anyone know if being very over weight could cause a neg preg test?  My period is at least 3 weeks late and I had a urine test done on 3-1 and it was negative. I am having abdomanal cramping. My last period was Jan 3rd. Also I just lost my job last week and with it my health ins. Is there any where I can go for a free blood test?? Planned Parenthood charged me $16 for the urine test. If anyone has any suggestions I'll take them. :)

Being overweight has nothing to do with pregnancy test readings. But being overweight CAN affect your periods and cycles. It can cause you to miss a period, to have longer cycles, longer bleeding, heavier bleeding, etc.

Pregnancy tests measure levels of HCG that the placenta gives off in pregnancy.

My last period was Jan 3rd. I usally run about 35-40 days per cycle therefore my next period should have been here no later than 2-14.

When was your last priod? You said Jan 3rd but first line of your email says you are 3 weeks late????
