Just moving it up to the top. So it can be answered.
I wanna know an answer to this question.
She is just pushing your question to the top. It actually was better for me this time surprisingly. I had a resident since I go to a teaching hospital and we actually held a conversation through the whole thing which actually took my mind off of it.
Oh Yea. I even asked my doc and she said take some Tylenol before i come but I'm not big on medicine i don't think that would do any good
I hold a conversation with the doc. I'm more comfortable with it now but when I got my first paper smear ever I found talking to the doc helped ease my mind. Now it's just habit to hold conversation
Okay I'm going to try not to think about it. Do you guys think listening to music will help?
Possibly but if the doctor starts talking to you, you wnt be able to hear anything
If you are really tense or scared about the situation it will make it worse because you are building it up. Do whatever you can to relax before which could mean getting to the appt early to calm down or right on time so your not spending more time stressing. When I get a pap or blood work I just talk to the doctor/nurse the whole time. About anything - the baby, the weather, literally anything to just distract myself.
Okay thanks alot ladies. My appointment is not until April 21st. I don't know why I'm even thinking about this right now lol
I felt like I got punched! I told my husband how much it hurt and he felt so bad because in med school he used the larger size so that he could get a better look-- no one complained and the woman watching him told him it was ok. Now I think he'll use the smaller size. Lol! I thought it hurt worse than the flu shot
Your not alone I hate them too . Lol
I always have a woman doctor and that helped ease my fears, esp as a teenager. Now I just talk through it and laugh. I always think boy this would be the worst time to pass gas.
I was nervous lol but the fact he was really careful and quick made it so much easier for me :)
