No sex, lifting over 5-10lbs, or anything strenuous. But it may vary from dr to dr as to what they consider pelvic rest. I was on pelvic rest for several weeks in the first trimester and since I am a stay at home mom it was easier for me to follow but there was no lifting my son, I had to switch purses to something smaller and lighter, and couldn't stand for long periods of time. But I mostly laid on the couch and played with my son on the floor.
No pelvic-region sex, no orgasms. (In other words, no masturbation either.) Hand jobs (if you are not the recipient) are OK. I wasn't told that about the lifting ... my doc limited my lifting to 30 lbs. or less. I was told to stay off my feet more than usual.
Great help thx a lot ladies hopefully I can follow these orders BC I'm a full time student and i also work but more importantly I want my baby 2 survive
If you can provide a doctor's note with their instructions that you stay off your feet/on bedrest, they can often allow you to make up work if you have to miss a couple of weeks. I teach at a college, and I've had students with many medical situations; I'd never ask somebody to risk their health or the health of their child, though we do work with certain institutional constraints so there is a limit of how much we can excuse. I don't know if your semester has started but you might email them and/or make appointments with them to let them know what's going on. Bring your doctor's note with you.
Thx a lot mamabear I have a Appt on 01/12 and ill make sure I ask 4 that
Yes, bring the original but make several copies. Each instructor might ask to keep one because sometimes we need them for our records. Then keep your instructors informed, a lot of times we can be very understanding but we're so busy we can't chase after individual students, so a lot of the responsibility falls on the student to keep us informed. Good luck, with school and with your little one. :)
When I was on pelvic rest I was just told no sex and no heavy lifting. I was also a college student and was told it would be fine for me to walk across campus. I walked about 3 miles on day and everything was OK. Daughter is now 4.
