pets and baby's?

Already mommies, that have pets can you tell me how your pet(s) reacted to your new little one?? I have 4 cats, one is my mom's (Baby), one is mine (Sassy), my boyfriend has one (Tiggy) and the last and newest one is both mine and my boyfriend's (Chatty) and Sassy is not getting along with Chatty, at all, there still hissing at each other. And I'm afraid that sassy will get jealous with the new baby that's coming sometime in November(haven't found out my exact due date cuz I missed my first ob appointment due to lack of transportation) Has anyone out there with a baby already dealt with their pets and possible jealousy??

Oh thank you!! I'm not worried about my mom's cat cuz she never leaves her room at all the only 2 I really worry about is Sassy and Tiggy, none of them are really territorial, I don't let them be lol there all equal in our home, so hopefully that helps too, and bringing something with the baby's smell on it sounds like a terrific idea!!

I have two dogs and I plan on having my husband take something home with the baby smell on it and have them sniff it. Plus, I am gonna have friend before hand go and walk them for a bit and us come home so we are already in the house before they are.   We want our dogs to know baby is #1 and they are #2 as much as we love our dogs. Also, we have been training them to stay out of baby's room and working on their behaviour in general. Its only been us and them for awhile so we are trying to transition them a best as possible.

I had to get rid of my cat because she started peeing on my bed (only on my side) after the second time hubby said either she sleeps in a cage or we find a new owner. I am not for cages so... :(

Luckily my cat is very laid back and doesnt seem to mind a thing, but they may be fine together, just don't ever leave them unattended in the same room together, not even for two minutes x

Idk if cats r the same, but ik w dogs, its good to bring somethin to the house, b4 the baby goes home, that has babies scent on it for the dog to sniff so they kno there scent. Maybe u can try w the cat nd hav it in his bed or areas so he knos that scent.

Not yet but I wouldnt suggest bringing cats by your newborn right away, at least my bfs is very "this is my space not yours" and when I put up my bassinet to make sure I knew how (its also a travel one) but he tried to lay in it - I wasnt having it and it pissed me off greatly. but cats will try and be nasty to the baby if they view it as their space and the baby is taking it up and can even scratch or lay on the baby so its no good.  hopefully your cat is nicer though!
