Miscarraige from Amnio?

Has anyone - or know of someone who has actually miscarried due to an Amnio procedure?

Yeah it's pretty intense aye! haha.. I'm glad I went through with it though - it wasn't as bad as I thought and I would have spent the rest of the pregnancy stressing had I not gone through with it =)

Just had the Amnio today - the procedure went smoothly and it didn't hurt one bit! I almost chickened out right at the last minute... until the doctor told me that he has only had one case of a miscarriage in his 10 years of practice - so I found that reassuring and went through with it.

So hopefully all will stay well.... time will tell though! I will keep you all posted.

I was also told chances are 1/200 of miscarriage from amnio. There is also risk of infection and that risk is much higher. After the procedure you will be on bedrest for a few days so plan accordingly. I was only allowed up to potty then right back in bed w feet up. My husband or family had to bring me all my meals and anything I wanted. So rent some movies or buy some magazines or a book now it's a boring few days

you're chances are 1/200. for every 200 1 will end up m/c due to the amnio. the should be telling you this before the procedure. i'm surprised that they haven't

It is a very small complication and I had one with my second son it is just a complication that they must warn you about. More than likely, things go fine.

Look back at the papers signed before amnio but I thought that was a possible complication.
