pregnancy diet?

before i became pregnant i was weighing 240 being 5feet 4inches tall so i started a diet i have lost down to 200lbs, i was wondering is there a diet that i can take while being pregnant or if i will have to put the diet to the side till the baby is born?

Yeah...simple carbs are important...i eat pretzels to curve that craving...i had a 1/2 cheese steak and seasoned fries for dinner because i was craving it and i never eat like that...now i feel like crap. im bloated and my tummy hurts and i now know why i dont eat like that...lol. its all about moderation and 2000 calories a day i think is a pretty normal consumption...

Not to just anyone bubble eating healthy is great while being pregnant, but you're supposed to eat more. About 300 calories more. A woman is supposed to eat 2000-2500 without being pregnant. So at around 2300-2800 should be where you should be shooting for. I've only gained 10lbs and have been eating around 2600 a day. I'm 21wks.

I think I actually eat healthier now and better then I did before was pregnant. I eat the same amount as before no more no less, but better food choices.   I'm currently 26wks and I have only gained 8lbs... Dr said I was getting smaller and baby was getting bigger.

I've been on a diet most of my life there low carb, low calorie. Usually I have a lot of discipline but since I've been pregnant I have the biggest appetite. Though I choose mostly healthy options I'm still gaining. I'm use to a 1500 cal diet so anything extra effects me. My obgyns not concerned & told me to continue the same routine just increase exercise. I guess ill have to bust my butt afterwards.

Pretzels are a staple here...i get the little pretzel sticks...they are easy to eat and after a handful usually the craving is curved. i also keep uncrustables in the freezer...they are a good snack/small meal and have protein along w/a little bread...

i know that feeling all to well lol i am on so many meds for my stomach bc everything i eat makes me feel like that. i have had 3 surgerys in the last year on my stomach bc of all the bloating and hurting, but i like the pretzel thing it sounds like a good idea would probably work in the middle of the night when i get those 4 am cravings also.

well that is very true, sometimes i hate the cravings tho, do you ever get weird cravings like so far i have wanted gummy bears and mayo. but i know how unhealthy that is, so i have been fighting the urge.

Most women gain weight regardless... even if they're eating healthy. So if you do start packing on pounds, don't feel bad. You're body is about to do an amazing thing! Once you have baby you'll be able to go back to your dieting.
My doc told me to eat what I was craving because it could be a sign of your body lacking a certain nutrient..

well my fiance has put me on a fruits and veggie diet with water (its the only fluids i want anyway) but lately i have been craving really greasy foods. im trying to only eat about 1900 calories a day. but idk if that is a good amount or not, dont want to harm the baby i just dont want to use "im pregnant" as a reason to eat and gain lots of weight.

No need to diet persae...just eat healthy. they say five small meals a day and a few snacks. just watch what you eat...i eat lots of fruit and veggies...so when i crave french fries i dont feel that guilty because i eat well as a whole...drink plenty of fluids too!!
