like snot, some times it has a little bit of blood in it, but not always. if you touch it, it's really stringy. you can lose parts of it during pregnancy and your body can just build it back up, or it can be a sign that labor is on the way. I lost parts of mine for weeks before I ended up getting induced. Hope that helps.
In my case, sort of hard and whitish, like lard but not as soft as lard. They can have a few bloody streaks in them too.
