They generally suggest you have at least a 4 hour period without consuming any liquids if you are taking a test with urine...
thats my confusion cos i pee'd alot yest and durin the night
I should add that your numbers start somewhere so under 50 doesnt mean its not a viable pregnancy, I think some doctors just say that because by the time they see a patient, they assume it would have doubled to be more than that if it was good.. but thats not the case always since as I said, your numbers will start somewhere.
The home tests check for HCg in your urine but are not as accurate as the levels can vary depending on how diluted your urine is.. That is why they suggest first morning urine.. but even that can be tricky if you are the type of person who drinks alot of water throughout the night or pees frequently... The sensitivity levels on home pregnancies can be anywhere from 25-100 ML/Ui... Generally, the dollar store ones are 25 (if you go for hte pink test) but FIrst Response pregnancy tests tend to be the most sensitive.. Thats why I said originally the results can vary depending on the type of test you used.
thats a great help thank you guys fingers crossed aye x
There are two blood tests you can get .. One will give you a simple yes/no answer to the pregnancy questions much like the urine test (not very useful information)
The other one is called a beta HCG test... This will measure the level of HCG that is in your blood stream (the pregnancy hormone). Anything less than 5 is considered not pregnant.... Some doctors dont consider anything under 50 a viable pregnancy... It really depends... So they test you blood to get this baseline number and depending on what it is they would probably want you to come back in 48-72 hours to get retested. If the number is doubling every 48-72hours then generally it is a good sign that the pregnancy is viable. So if you first reading was 50, you would expect it to be 100 on the next test... the doubling times vary but generally 5-1200 = 48 hours; 1200-6000 = 72-96 hours; and over 6000 = 96s hours or more.
It is 100% of course though as in some types of miscarriges, the numbers will start out normal then decrease over time, etc. But it is generally as start..
The numbers vary greatly from woman to woman... There is generally a range based on week from your LMP that is considered normal but it is wide... The more important part is that the yare doubling according...
For example, my first HCG with this pregnancy was 14,156 at 5 weeks 3 days pregnant.
Other woman with viable pregnancies on here have reported numbers 150, 500, 1500, etc.. It all depends and all that matters is if they are rising - doubling during the time frame.
A blood test will determine whether or not you are really pregnant. And whether or not you are miscarrying. IF the blood test is NEG, you may never have been pregnant, or it was chemical. IF it's POS, they will have you go back for more tests every couple days to see if your levels are rising. IF they are going down, you will miscarry. IF they are going UP at a good rate, you could be just fine.
what is the blood test to determine x
i know both are what am dreading
it could be a miscarriage or chemical pregnancy as well... Bleeding may not have started yet . I hope that is the not the case but it is a possibility..
just dont know what to think nw
ive got a doctors appointment tomorrow anyways ive read that this could be a miscarriage but no bleeding is occurin so am worried nw
I would go in for a blood test.
The best thing you could do at this point would be to get a blood test done... It really could go other ways, different brands have different sensitivity levels...
