First OBGYN appointment

I'm around 11 weeks now... My first appointment is on Friday. What do they do for first appointment? Do I get to see my baby?? Also... Should I let my boyfriend be in the room?? He wants to be but I'm insecure about my weight, I don't want him knowing how much I weigh...

I'm sorry but your weight is the least of your concerns. He's your babies father you shouldnt be emberassed of that has ganna see a lot more. Your only 11w you have no idea what you are in for.  I would get over it or everything you're about to experiece is not ganna be easy

Some dr's split it up. Mine did a health history blood work and informational on early pregnancy, risks, like meds I could and could not take and foods etc. Then had me back two weeks later to go over results confirm medical history and transvaginal ultrasound. I came in at 5 weeks though...you are further than I was for the first appointment...at 5 weeks there isnt much to see he usually wont see a patient until 8 weeks but I am considered high risk due to age and diabetes. Your appointment is going to go well...enjoy the journey!!

My doctors office had the weight thingy in the room and he wouldn't see it anyways unless he got up and checked. They talk about what your diet is. Youmight not see your baby till you make an appt for that but than you might get to see it a little on the tiny ultra ssound that they could have. Every appt is different but this is mine

Sometimes both. Just ask your doctor how many you can expect and when to expect them so you can prepare. I'm very lucky. My midwife does a lot of ultrasounds and it doesn't add anything to my bill as we have awesome insurance. But not every provider does routine ultrasound.

Yeah they let you see the baby...they need to make sure that the baby is in the right location and didn't implant wrong...they usually also ask questions about your boyfriend and your health and family health history its the longest appointment

They might not do an ultrasound. Depends on your doctor. I don't get any kind of ultrasound until I'm 19 weeks :(

Be prepared to give a urine sample, a blood sample, possibly get a pap smear and vaginal ultrasound. Also they will probably take your weight and blood pressure every time.

They usually weigh you in the hall before your exam. If you're self conscious, just ask the nurse to settle your bf into the exam room before weighing you.
