preterm labor scare

Today I experienced the scariest thing in my life!!! This morning I woke up feeling just like normal well jumped in the shower to get ready for work when I got out of the shower I noticed I had some period cramping I didn't pay to much attention thinking normal pregnancy symptoms or ligament pain by the time I got to work probley about 1hr after getting the period cramps I noticed the pain in my back into my hips mainly on my right side by this time it was 7am I decided to take some tylenol by 9am the pain was still there and didn't lighten up at all so I figured it was time to call my midwife she told me to get to the hospital. By the time I got there my contractions was 2to3 mins apart. They hurried took my urine and started fluid IV nothing would slow them down they did the test to see if I could deliver in the nxt couple weeks it came back negative and my cervix is still closed they gave me two shots to stop my contractions after about an hour and a half my contractions went down to 3-4 an hour. After a few hours I was released the only restrictions she put me on was pelvic rest? My question is should I continue to work like before? I know I need to take it easy but now I'm worried about everything!!

Last pregnancy I had preterm labor and got put on bed rest. Call your dr to make sure u can work. I was only 25 weeks when it happened so if you are closer to your due date maybe it is not a big deal.

Lol I think I'm going to do that I just wanted to make sure I wasn't over reacting about not feeling comfortable going in tomorrow.

Yeah, because preterm labor can be caused from lifting, standing too long, etc. I would call in tomorrow and call your midwife, let her know you're not comfortable or at least ask for a not lifting/ take more breaks/ short shifts note, haha!

I would definitely talk to your doctor, I could only work 4 hour shifts and sit inbetween (I was only a cashier) I wouldn't think you should be working, not for a while anyway.

I'm a nurse aide and I work 12 hour shifts it's alot of lifting pulling pushing and standing. I think I'm just worried cause they couldn't tell me why this happened in the first place

If she didn't tell you to stop working, you probably can..what kind of work do you do?? I would call and run it by her if you should work, but I went into preterm labor around 34 weeks and they stopped it, and I went back to work a few days later, and I never had an issue again til 40 weeks in labor! Were you dehydrated or have a UTI?

Do you stand and lift a lot at your job? Or do you mainly sit?
