running

I am five weeks  pregnant.  I have been  a runner  for years,  running  3-4 miles  a day.  Is it safe for me to run in my first  trimester?  I haven't  had my first dr. Appt yet. I will also ask this,  then.

I've always been a runner, but I've never been able to while pregnant. With my first and this one I was always too sick n crampy to run.. I miss it, but I'll get to again soon.. If you feel comfortable and your body is used to it then keep running, exercise is so good for you n baby during pregnancy and perfectly safe.. Your body will let you know if you're over doing it too, so don't worry about that either.. Best of luck!

I was an active runner before my first pregnancy and I ran all the way up until my 5th month.

I have heard if you were active before the pregnancy then stay active. I think it would be safe to continue running but cut the miles down to 1-3 a day.
