We got about 60 lbs of meat for 90 bucks!! Hubbys boss shot a deer and let us get it processed because he didnt need it! So we have 60 lbs of meat now and expecting a side of beef too! (1/2 a cow!) :) yayyy cheaper groceries for the next almost year! ;)

If u soak it in salt water there is no gamey wild taste! :) then you can prepare it as u like without that taste! :)

I always hated eating venison but for some reason being pregnant I've been craving it. My dad and 2 of my brother hunt and he's waiting to get his meat an he's giving me some but it seems like it taking forever lol

K lol! Mine likes to hunt but doesnt have a hunting license. :/ so it comes in handy when his boss decides hes got enough meat and gives us the option. :)

Yep it did! We will have to get a second freezer for storage. And we are getting our side of beef as part of hubbys christmas bonus. His boss has cattle and will be having one processed and splitting it between hubby and the other employee. :) you might be able to go to a meat market where they process meat and ask how much it would cost! Sometimes they have people who take a cow deer etc up there and never pay for it or pick it up so they sell it! :)

Were do u store all that meat?  How much does a half of cow cost? ,hell I might buy one I hate having to go shopping every other day.

So your husbands decision paid off after all? I wish my husband hunted! He can't stand to watch a deer die, or to kill it, so he won't hunt, he'll take a gun in the woods with full intentions of shooting something but he won't, haha.. oh well!!
