self checking?

So maybe a weired question but have any of you mommies ever self checked your self for dilation? I've heard some presume talk about it and raf some on the Internet about it but wanna know your opinions and experiences I'm considering trying to since I've had so many braxton hicks and contractions with pressure and had preterm Labour with my son around this time and my midwife doesn't seem concerned most of the time

I just saw on one of the other baby apps where the one girls dr encouraged her to just to stay in touch with her body or something like that but did tell her to use gloves and scrub her hands and they're were others who agreed with her saying their Dr's told them how and everything

I tried but I couldn't reach it so my fiance tried for me but he had no idea what he was reaching for. Also I found out later by my doc that it's not safe for you or you doc to check the civix for dilation. Can cause infection. That's why our doctors keep blowing off checking for us.

I don't think you should because of the risk for infection. I've never tried it.
