sharp stabbing pains

So im 37w1d and I know that this is all normal... but that's all the doc tells me. These sharp stabbing pains in my pelvis area... does anyone know exactly what they are? With my other two I never felt these. With my other two I didn't go into labor on my own... I had to be induced. The only thing i remember is pressure. But this time I've lost my mucus plug, lower back pain, I've had contractions and these sharp stabbing pains.. anyone know what its from?

Yes its normal. It can hurt like heck but totally normal. Just some early signs of labor! Hopefully you don't have to be induced this go around and your body is preparing for labor!

Stabbing pains, for me, was my cervix dilating, so it could be that, pressure down there can also cause shooting pains, but losing mucus plug is a good indicator you're progressing well on your own! :)
