protein in urine ?

The other day at my 20wk appt my dr told me that there was protein that showed up in my urine & said it may be a possible urinary tract infection, but I don't think that's the case because whenever I pee it doesn't burn or hurt & I'm not itchy down there or anything, I think I'm starting to leak urine though when my bladder's full (sorry tmi).....so if that's not what it is, what else could it be?

I had 2 uti's when I was pregnant with my son and I didn't recognize it because I didn't have any of the normal symptoms I went to labor and delivery because it was causing me to have contractions and they checked my urine and that's when they discovered it

Oh wow, if it is a uti I hope they hurry & tell me for sure so I don't have to go to the er & so I can go ahead & start treating it. I've also have been peeing like crazy & getting cramps but I thought that was normal. And also whenever I'm laying down & I have to pee my sides hurt like crazy but ease off after I pee... And thank you! :)

That sound exactly what i have and ended up in the er bc of. It did turn out to be a UTI which i had no clue bc i dident have the "normal" symptons. Im 18w and it made me have really bad cramps and i was peeing like crazy. The Dr. Actually said that in the 2nd trimester you shouldnt be going to the bathroom that much. They put me on an antibiotic and iv been taking cramberrie juice and iv seen a difference. Have them run another test to be sure. But uti's are very common in the 2nd trimester. Best of luck
