need advise

Here is the story...my mil got put in the hospital a couple of weeks ago. We (me and hubby) went to see her and when we got there we seen a big pill bottle that was prescribed 3 days prior and it was empty. It was lorcet 10 (pain meds) and it was a prescribtion of 120 of them all gone. I called her doc the Monday after and told him that all 120 of them was gone and I wasn't sure if she sold them or took too many of them. Well she went to the doc and they red flagged her from narcotics and I told her I called them because this has went on for 4 years and she has also tried to overdose before and she mixes with alcohol. All her kids decided it would be best for me to do this but the other night she got really angry and rude with me because she was redflagged (she won't ever have narcotics prescribed again) and called me names and said she hated me and blahblahblah...ok is it wrong of me to tell her until she gets her priorities in order not to talk to me and my family or have anything to do with my 3 year old and not to come to the hospital unless she gets over this first...I'm sick of her attitude it stresses me out.

Not at all wrong, and you did the right thing! She'll most likely thank you for it in the future!

She made it where no one can talk to her doc I just had to tell the nurse what I new and I believe the hospital doc call her doc as well. She was detoxing at the hospital and to be honest I believe she has bipolar she is suppose to go to mental health. I just wish she would straighten up because her daughter my sil won't let her see her kids especially unsupervised

I know how you feel only I go through this with my mother. She has been an addict to pain pills since I was 9 and now I'm 23... She has a new bf that used to live across from me and my husband and he was sent to prison for molesting a 13 yr old and doing crystal meth....needless to say she Is not welcome in the room when I deliver and me and my kids will not visit her if her bf is around. She doesn't understand why but yet doesn't believe me about him either ....I know its hard to do that to family but when it comes to tour kids you have all the say so. I don't think you are wrong at all for your decision

No, thats not wrong. It your job to protect your child, sometimes its from family unfortunately. You have to do what is best for your family. Maybe your husband can talk to his moms doctor and see if he can offer her therapy and help to try to get her clean.

Not wrong at all. She needs to be more mature and if she cant be mature she doesnt need to be around children. Your children shouldnt hear her calling u bad names or talking bad about you period.
