aiden kai goes better together because of the a's and i's
and nathan is alot more common
go for something different aiden kai is alot better imo :D
i know, at least whichever i pick will be popular lol
so funny that it is 50-50% :)
i'm in the uk, aiden isn't as common here...i don't care whether a name is common or not anyway to be honest. if i like the name and it feels right, i'm decided. only i ain't lol probably aiden/aidan but will know for sure once he's here.
I like the name Nathan better and as another poster pointed out AIDEN is an extremely popular name now...so you run the risk of him having 2 or 3 other Aidens in his class at school which can be very confusing.
That said...I voted for Aiden Kai only becuase I think it had a better ring to it...when said outloud the two names sound better together to me than Nathan Kai. But either one is a beautiful name.
lol thanks guys, i think it'll probably be aiden, but i'm not saying for sure till i hold him in my arms
looks like we arent much help based on that split in votes. At least you know which ever one you choose will be well liked by at least half of the population!
I really like both...I always say first instincts are best! i voted nathan just based on that.
wow 50/50 split! i voted aiden
I voted Nathan because Aiden is way too popular now... I love Aiden, but I literally have heard that name WAY too much in the past couple years.. Good luck!
I love Aiden!!! That was on my list of boy names in case this baby was a boy but it turned out to be what I wanted: A GIRL!!!!
lol, didn't know it meant anything in maori. It's definitely kai though, it's my big brother's name and he picked it. i love the sound of it. it means rejoice the lord is gracious in celtic. i'm still stuck on the first name though...think i prefer aiden but nathan goes better with my surname.
What about Nathaniel Kai?? Just a thought!
Tara
Good suggesstion with Nathaniel! It's a lovely name. I teach a boy called Nathaniel an he's lovely. Being a teacher puts you off so many names!
I'm not so keen on Kai though because in NZ (where I'm from) Kai is the Maori word for food! I had never thought of it being used for a boys name.
I like Nathan better just because Aiden is overly used now. Since you're tiring of Nathan, how about changing it a bit? What about Nathaniel? I think its cute with Kai as the middle name...Just a suggestion!
Aiden is extremly popular so when he goes to school there is gonna be like 2 or 3 other boys and or girls even with that name nathan however is not used so much no a days. plus Kai is a shorter name and not as well known and i think nathan would be a nice strong name and they would be cool together.
I like both, but voted for Nathan becuase it is less common in the U.S., and that is one of my primary considerations. Both go together with Kai very well!
Maybe wait til you see him and choose??
I like the name Aiden Kai. It goes well together. Also, this name is not as popular as Nathan and really their are no short names for Aiden. Nathan would be called Nate or Nat. Just my opinion. Good Luck.
I like Aiden but just cuz it sounds like Eden. The son I lost last year was named Eden. I have to agree with chantal though. Both names are pretty common and I really like original names. My baby's names are Eden and Aries Exzavier. I'm having trouble finding one for this baby. Another boy and I got nothing. I posted a question for ideas for names and liked Avery but it's common down south already as a girls name. I also had Zaden but every name these days has aden sound so don't want to name my baby that. Both of your names are good though.
I love the name Aiden...I am a little biased though because my best friends ex was named Nathan and he was horrible! I do like Aiden a lot! Good Luck in choosing they are both wonderful names!
I like Nathan. Aiden is becoming very popular nowadays, I like the name, but prefer names that aren't so common. Me and my hubby are having a very difficult time with names for this baby.
I chose Nathan, because so many people are naming their boys Aiden (although a nice name) - - - and the name always reminds me of Jon & Kate +8.
NATHAN .. for sure is a nice name ...
Aiden is the number 1 most common name in America so, based on that, I would choose Nathan
