tattoo for baby

This will be my hubby and my's (sorry for bad grammar) first baby, due in late march. I am wanting to get the baby's astrological symbol tattooed on my left wrist. It's kind of like what my mom did for my sibs and me, but in a different spot on the left arm. Good idea or no? And how long should i wait after the baby is born to get it?

The infection risk has nothing to do with previous tattoos, it has to do with the needles used and also the ink. I know there was recently a batch of ink recalled due to causing mass amounts of infections.

If you will be breast feeding I would wait until after you are done just because risk of infection. I got my tattoo for my first son when he was about 6 months old after I stopped breastfeeding because my tattoo artist will not tattoo if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
