Although little girls are cute with their ears pierced I personally would never pierce my baby's ears. If this baby is a girl she will have that option when she gets older to get them done. And as far as piercing a boys ears that's just something I would never even consider doing. Having your ears pierced is something the child should be able to decide on their own. And plus if they get it done when they get older it will teach them responsibility because they will have to keep them cleaned.

My mom got mine done when I was 2 months old and im soooo happy she did because I probably would have punked out on my own. Plus I dont remember the pain of it obviously. Mine are perfectly fine. Our daughter has been wanting earrings for the past 6 months. So we are planning to get hers done for her 3rd birthday in December:)

I personally will not be having my daughter's ears pierced. I think that is a decision a child should make for themselves.
What I do find interesting is the amount of people telling you to wait, or not do it at all.
If you had posted asking about piercing a baby girl's ears, instead of a boy the response would have been so much different. I know because I've been part of the debate on here many times. With a baby girl most mom's on here encourage you to pierce their ears as soon as possible, and a few mom's even admit to doing the piercing themselves when baby is a few days old, which is both dangerous and (depending on where you live) child abuse.
Honestly, it's upto you. I will never agree with any baby having a piercing. My mum had mine done when I was 3 months old, and I hardly ever wear earrings any more.
If she hadn't had them done, I would have as I got older, but I still don't think you should make that decision for your child.

I am a big supporter of getting a childs ears pierced as soon as possible, whether they are a girl or boy and always planned for my children to have pierced ears at a young age. My son had his left ear pierced when he was a few days old at the same time as his twin sister had her ears pierced. Afterwards I wished that I had pierced both his ears. As soon as their ears had healed I had her ears double pierced and had his right ear pierced as well as having a second hole in his left ear.
If I had another boy I would definitely have both his ears pierced as soon as possible. I think it looks really cute to see a baby boy with earrings and it is very popular now.
There isnt a minimum age for ear piercing but you may need to shop around to find somewhere that will do it as soon as you want but  I'm glad you are considering having your sons ears pierced and encourage you to go ahead and do it as early as you can. However, I do recommend that you get both his ears pierced rather than just one. Good luck with your decision but I hope you get him pierced. Let us know what you decide to do.

My parents didn't get my ears pierced til i was 13 years old. I would wait if i were you so that the holes don't shift as your little guy grows up. In the end, the choice is up to you as to whether you do it now or let him choose when he wants it done.

I believe that boys should not get their ears pierced. It is for girls. You can get them pierced after they have their first shots so at about 3 months of age

Im not even doing that to my daughter. My mom did mine at 3 months and they were pierced in the right place then but as I grew my ears grew too and now I cant wear earrings bc the hold is too close the side of my face and theyre just awful. Its not even my choice. If my daughter wants them she can make thay choice herself. Ear piercing babies was started by immigrants to symbolize children born in the u.s. that got them their citizenship.

I would suggest not getting them but allow them to about 10-12 so they can take care of it

I personally think that getting a boys ears pierced should be his decision when he gets older not something to do when he is a baby and may not like it when he gets a little older.
