stairs

I live on the second floor of my apartment building. Has anyone had a child and then have to walk up stairs?  How has this impacted your life with stairs and a newborn?

And with the stroller. I just hold it over my head and walk down. Then I go back up for the baby as long as someone is up stairs watching the baby while I bring down the stroller because I will never ever ever leave my baby alone . not even for a second

I have And it ***** ! Having to carry a baby in a car seat plus your purse plus a full diaper bag is not the business lol. The bigger the baby gets the heavier the car seat is but on the bright side it helps u build muscles and you will find a position to carry the baby up stairs that won't be as bad

Hi there.  I think where it is a pain is with strollers and things like that.  If you can leave the stroller downstairs locked up when not in use or something, that would be good.  I didn't live on the second floor but had a house where the driveway went down under---  so had steps to get into the house.  And it was a two story house so carried the baby up and down stairs all day.  My current house has about 10 steps to get in the front door or you can go in the basement and then up a flight of stairs to the first floor (we live on a hill).  It's hard when you have multiple things to carry in.  You learn to make trips.  I'd carry the infant carrier in and put it somewhere safe and then run out to the car and get the groceries and things like that.

good luck.  You'll get lots of exercise. :>)
