i am 8 weeks. i stopped my generic chewable prenatal vitamin a few days ago because it made me sick and i could do my business. I was frustrated every time i went to bathroom. my tummy was like a ballooon. after i stopped taking it for a few days, my bowel movement became regular. i actually went a few times today. Was very happy and relief! i need to talk to my OB to either stop or switch over to another brand or like other ladies said maybe i should try the flinstone as well.
I'm 38wks an for bout 2wks I keep forgttn to tke thm an I've bn fine whle pregnancy tkn thm bt lately they mke me nauseas like in the first trimster I struggled wth thm, bt I feel bad wen I dnt tke em.
I take flinestone gummie vitamins because prenatals made me sick and constipated too!
Try taking the prenatal gummy vitamins They are way easier on your stomach
My OB tried a few different prenatals with me and they all made me sick so she just put me back on my adult gummy vitamins that me and my fiance both take and ive not gotten nausious since.
I actually go really sick with mine and would skip them. I told my dr and she gave me tons of samples to try. I love citra assure pre natal. Theyre all natural very soft on stomach they give you and baby all nutrients and have a stool softner included. Its wonderful!
My doc prescribed me a prenatal with b6 in it to help with nausea your body needs all the extra vitamins it can get.. yes your body and baby can survive without it but the way I see it is... why not help and give your baby everything u can now that we have the knowledge and the ability... why not? My vitamin is called citranatal with 90 dha it didn't make me sick at all good luck with everything
Wow how the crap did it get up there
Ladies - this post is 4 yrs old.
You shouldn't stop...doc said when i was getting sick to take them at night...
Omg i dident take it last nite and i havent been to the bathroom for a while and today i been like 4 time could it be the pills??? Maybe i should take the ine a day
Try over the counter ones. or just take a regular multivitamin, my friends doctor had her do that when her prenatals made her sick.
I hardley ever took my prenatels during my pregnancy cause they made me sick too but now that I gave birth I feel I need them. They really do give me more energy, probobly because Im so tierd, not sleeping well because of baby wakeing up during night and haveing an 8 year old getting up early for school, Im exausted, not eating rite either so they help alot now!!! So dont get rid of them :)
I'm the same as the other women......flinstones. They are awesome. Also just make sure you have a healthy diet to make up for some of the loss. Good luck the sickness will subside!!!!
You need to take some form of multi-vitamin or you're going to deplete your stores. After baby is born it may cause issues for you. And while women in the past didn't take vitamins, there are a lot more health issues and knowledge today that says taking a vitamin is important. They didn't have autism and ADHD issues in the past until research has found out what those things are. Then people from the past realize, "Oh, that was ME".
Do yourself and baby a favor and take something that won't make you feel sick! You'll both benefit.
through out my frist trimester my prenatals made me sick but my ob the loving man he is told me to suck it up and keep taking them...have you tried taking them after you eat? i started doing that towards the end of the first trimester and i've been fine since. i did get the constipation which i still have and he just prescribed me another wonderful pill to take to help with that.
i think it is very important to take some type of vitamin. With out proper nutriants your baby will have a higher risk of birth effects....
i take the equate (walmart) brand and have no problems(ttc), I also took the prenatal omega oil capsule just to make sure i don't get constipated. When i was pregnant there was a few times i couldn't swallow the pills, i'd gag them back up, but that only lasted a few weeks
I take prescribed prenatals, PrimaCare One and they have a gentle laxative in them. They are new so they are ion the higher priced end of things.
i went to a natural herb shop and took rainbow brand prenatals they are gentle on the stomach but i would never just stop especially in the first trimester
i tried wal-mart brand, rite-aid brand and the ones i was prescribed and i couldn't take either of them without getting so sick....my OB then wrote me out a scrip for FLINSTONE vitamins so i didn't have to keep paying for them and they worked so good never once did i feel sick with them!
I actually take the kind you get at wal-mart and they don't make me sick at all the prescription ones do and my OB said it would be just fine....you have to think though back in the day ppl ate alot healthier too....
I also take the OneSource brand from Walmart - never any problems with them, but with the presription ones - they made me sooo sick!!
