I go to the gym during the week i run a mile straight then do lots of leg workouts i stopped doing ab workouts they were my least favorite anyway haha. I go hiking and i downloaded a pregnancy workout app that i try to do. Ive been lagging it the past couple weeks ive been so busy plus i have 2 kids so its not always easy i either have to do it first thing in the morning or i cant do it.
Hiking will really help you. I couldnt run a mile before hiking but once i started hiking up hills it really go me to control my breathing and boost my stamina. To be fair i use to carry my 23lb son in a hiking baby back pack so thatvwas a 30lb total but since about week 7 i stopped carrying him i dont want to exert my body too much.
Also i have a punching bag and thats an amazing workout
Definitely I'm really happy to hear that running a mile is seriously like my favorite accomplishment of working out. Like obviously you know I can see other workouts are getting easier but the other day I decided I wanted to see if I could run past a mile cuz usually I just stopped after a mile and I did a mile and a quarter and the last quarter mile I just had like this huge smile on my face because I felt really accomplished.
I was a muscle growth workout before getting pregnant, so I cm just changed the direction of exercise. More cardio because I hate cardio more than anything. Since we're hoping for a natural birth I've been doing yoga. It gets harder the bigger you get. I'm at 28 weeks. Yoga birthing squats are easier but regular squats don't work too well for me because of having so much weight in the front. Ibe gained a lot of weight already, but it's mostly in my breasts and butt. I mean they are huge. You can't even tell I'm pregnant from behind, but my belly protrudes more outward than the sides. I think it's all how I carry lol. I try to get to the gym 3 to 4 times a week and yoga at least 5 times a week. Our baby girl lovessss working out, she kicks and kicks.
Actually, I started by looking up prenatal yoga and watched some videos, then I found this book called the yogabirth and it's great. They have many poses for you to try. There's another book called yoga naps for restorative relaxation. Just picked them up from the library because I didn't want to pay for them. I love butterflys. They feel so great.
Butterfly yoga pose is life right now. Whenever i feel stiff i drop down and get my eagle on (nelly reference loool)
Even though i already go to the gym 2 times a week and hike once a week you guys have me motivated for more. I fixed my jogger stroller yesterday the tires have been flat for months ive been using those quick small strollers for stores and stuff. So today after i worked out at the gym for an hour i came home and went for a nice walk with my son on top of it. Keep motivated ladies your bodies will thank you :)
You sound like you know what to do, but just in case anyone else needs advice, we have an article on exercising safely while pregnant on MedHelp.org and in Week 12 of our I'm Expecting app!
