Last night i went to l&d cause i was havin contractions 2-5 mins apart. They checked me & i was 5cm & 80% effaced. I stayed & walked around, they checked me again a hr later & i didnt dilate ne more so they sent me home w pain med & a sleeping pill.  This seems crazy to me. Im in so much pain i cnt hardly walk. I thought if u were 5 cm u were n labor?? Wen i had my son i was exactly 5cm & 80% effaced & they admited me. Could me bein this dilated hurt the baby?

If you are still having contractions you should go back. That's what happene with my daughter, I went in and was a 2 and didnt dilate anymore, I got sent home and within 24 hrs i had my baby girl

This is crazy to me!! W my son i didnt dilate on my own. I had to have pitocin. Ive been havin contractions like this for days. I jus hope all these contractions & me bein dilated this much dsnt put my baby in distress.

thats why.. cuz ur 37 and theres risk of prematurity for not noing exactly when concieved.. i just went threw this 2 days ago. i had contractions every 4-10 min for 12 hrs at the hospital and im supposed to have a repeat csection. i went from nothing to 3 cm and 50% and they wanted to put me in a morphine sleep. i was so hungry hadnt ate in over 24 hrs and they couldnt feed me incase they had to do the csection and the morphine didnt stop the contractions.. i was too hungry so i left the hospital and was told to come back when in active labor and not stalled. ********. i dnt understand either but i was 37wks and they said that

Same happened to me lastnight only i was just 2.5cm dialated and they didnt giv me any medication.

did they contact your doctor? When you go to L&D they are supposed to call your doc for instructions on what they would like done....i would call your doc If your unsure or think you Should go back in, that doesnt seen Right to me. Good luck!
