wondering if i have an ectopic pregnancy

i know its very uncommon because i have mirena..but i also know most pregnancies with mirena are ectopic. alright so i dont  have any bleeding whatsoever. BUT i haven't had a period at all since mirena. so its hard to say when i missed one or whatever. but i did bleed off and on; sometimes heavy sometimes light. i never had 5 days of straight period-like bleeding so i just assumed none of it was a period although i guess technically i could have had one and interpreted it as bleeding due to mirena.
right now i have a sharp, stabbing pain on my right side. its beside my uterus; exactly where i would think a fallopian tube would be. at first i thought maybe i need to go to the bathroom (as i do have intestinal issues and sometimes take laxatives)... so i went but it didn't help at all. the pain is still there, just on that one side.
ive checked my mirena and had DH check it. it hasn't perforated or anything like that.
also, i took a pregnancy test 3 nights ago because i was extremely bloated, and it came up as invalid. what causes an invalid test? ive taken dozens of tests over my life and never ever had an invalid result; so i really don't think it would be from user error.
anyways any light on this pain is appreciated; again i have no bleeding at all. and also none of your typical pregnancy symptoms. i have been very lightheaded and dizzy sometimes but i think thats due to not eating enough calories throughout the day and im sure isn't from internal bleeding due to an ectopic pregnancy.

the pain is still there but hasn't increased in intensity. money is very low so dh wouldn't purchase a test just yet. i would think with an ectopic pregnancy the pain would intensify. it is still present and comes and goes, but it has not gotten worse. im not as worried as before but still wondering whats causing this pain.

I had the mirena before this LO was born and there was months that I would not have a cycle and I really thought I was pregnant, my friend who also had it said she went through the same thing...I would just retest again and see what happens

GOod luck

Yep, take another test.  They aren't too expensive and you can even buy them at the dollar store.

Invalid test results are caused from a manufacturing error.  A lot of times you can contact the manufacturer and will get a free replacement.  Check the box for details if you still have it.

The pain might be related to your ovary.  Typically, with an ectopic pregnancy pain isn't felt until about 6-7 weeks gestation but this isn't always the case.  Just something to keep in mind.

ya i want to take a test...DH is just against them since the pregnancy rate with mirena is less than .01%... he thinks its a complete waste of money but i think if it gives me peace of mind its worth it..
i think ill just buy one. i gotta pick up ariana's prescription from walgreens anyways

I agree I think that another test would be warranted by now....good luck sweetie hope it's just really weird, painful gas.

i would suggest taking another test that either gives a positive or negative...invalid is too vague...based on that result you would know if you are pregnent or possibly some complication from the mirena
