Im 31 weeks with twins. Ive never had so much trouble while working until lately. I end up in pain every time i work. My feet swell terribly. Granted they've cut my hours due to having to go to the doctor twice a week but it still seems to be to much. But i see other moms on here working 40+ hrs a week or working a factory job while being pregnant:(. According to doctors ill have these babies in about a month. When should i take maternity leave? I have it set for September 20th but everyone keeps telling me i wont make it.

Girly you are having twins! Lol of course you are much more tired your body is on double time making two beautiful babies. I am 31 weeks today still working and I've been working 40 hrs a week (But I'm only having one baby) it is definitely tough but I am taking my leave 2 weeks before due date. We need as much money since I will be taking 6 months off..I would say to take it once you start feeling like you really cant work if that's now take it now if not try to take it around 3 to 2 weeks before due due. Ask your doctor for his/her opinion as well they are the ones checking you so they should have a good idea.

Hats off to you! I'm only carrying one baby and I was so pleased to finish work at 34 weeks. I was very lucky as I'm a teacher so this was when we broke up for the summer and I don't officially start my mat leave until the 30th (baby's due date). I'm in the UK so we have different mat leave here but I think that you shouldn't push your body too hard and do what feels right for you. I imagine that your babies will be early anyway with twins so you will need some time to rest as much as possible first. My swelling was getting bad whilst I was still working but got so much better as soon as I was off and resting more. Do what feels best for you and good luck. I'm now 39+4 and can't wait to meet my baby :-)
