Black and Translucent Worms in Urine

I have had several instances where I have urinated a live worm.  The first time, I thought it must have been in there prior.  The second time, I could feel it and it was alive and wiggling on the bottom.  I captured it alive for my doctor, but it was dead by the time I got there.  The lab said it was probably a bug larva.  I have been checking the toilet everytime I go to make sure I don't have a worm in there prior to going.  Today, I passed another worm.  This one is about 3/4" long, appears to be translucent with a black line down it and little black segments.  It is alive, but I am sure it wont live until I can get it to the doctor tomorrow.  I have been very sick for 10 years with very rare illnesses that my doctors can't figure out what has caused them.  I also have severe muscle pain, muscle spasms, and hard spots under the skin that bruise when they become irritated.  I think this all goes back to a trip to Mexico where I got sick and never fully recovered.  What could this be and what could kill them?

Hi. Did you get cured of your worms? Also, were these black worms by any chance?

Hi,
Thanks for the updates. It is good to know that you have already checked with a tropical disease specialist and urologist. Determining the underlying cause will indeed needs further diagnostic tests. Do keep us posted with the results of the cytoscopy and CTscan. Take care and hope to hear from you soon.

I am seeing a urologist today for a scope of the bladder, and having a full body cavity CT tomorrow.  I saw a tropical disease specialist several days ago and he was blown away by the worm.  He thinks they are flesh eating worms that may have got into my body after a surgery, and they are in the kidneys when they get flushed out like a stone.  Who knows, maybe I have a volkswagen in me or something.  I hope we find this and I can get back to having a normal life.

You probably have a parasite, in Mexico they are more common.  Tell your doctor, then next time it passes take a picture of it to show him. Ask your doctor if when you pass them you can drop them off also

Hi,
How are you? There are a number of parasites, including certain types of worms that can infect the urinary tract. Trichomoniasis, schistosomiasis ( fluke infection), and filariasis(a threadworm infection)  are possible. It is best that you have this checked by yourdoctor or bereferred to a urologist. A urinalysis, urine culture and imaging studies such as KUB ultrasound may indeed be very helpful in identifying the underlying cause. Take care and do keep us posted.

oh wow that has to be frightening to see worms when you go to the bathroom.  There's alot of infection problems in Mexico esp with the water, larvae hatch and you're in trouble.  There's Disseminated Strongyloidiasis, Chagas' disease, and so many more.  What about giving urine samples to your doctor?  The worm may live in the urine, do a sample and leave it in there so the dr and lab can see it.  If your doctor doesn't want to deal with it I would see an urinologist.
