could it be an immune disease?

I have been diagnosed with chostochondritus, epididymitis  and sinusitis. All three are chronic, and have not responded to antibiotics. I have been offered surgery to treat the sinusitis but told to "live" with the other two problems. They are painful. I am 41 and considering ending my life if these can not be treated. I have tried to live with them for over a year, and my physical condition has had an effect on my mental health. My question is: all three problems concern infection, so could I have an immune deficiency of some sort which explains them all? Can anyone help?

Absolutely you should have an immunology work up--just to be on the safe side.

You should see an immunologist, and at the very minimum, he or she should check your Ig levels and sublevels, and do a b and t cell panel as well.

Hello jabelone,

Just get evaluated for the Young's syndrome which is also known as Azoospermia sinopulmonary infections, Sinusitis-infertility syndrome and Barry-Perkins-Young syndrome is a rare condition that encompasses a combination of syndromes such as bronchiectasis, rhinosinusitis and reduced fertility

Refer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young's_syndrome

Although the chances are very minimal, but still to rule out the possibility of the same, a thorough examination is advisable. In the mean while continue the course of antibiotics.

Best.
