Ok. But coup du sabre does only seem to happen on one side.
And although you can't see it in the pictures I posted, I have multiple lines on both sides of my head.
And coup du sabre often comes with coloring of the skin. Mostly dark/brownish spots or white spots.
I don't have any of those.
Also, I haven't found any similar picture on the internet.
This Friday I'm going to see my doctor again and perhaps he can take a simple just to test it.
I'd also like to do a CT and/or MRI scan.
Morfea does seem more likely than Cutis verticis gyrata, especially since my skin isn't thickened. But I'm not 100% convinced yet and would really like to know for sure what it is and what my outlook is.
Localized Morpea does not have Raynauds or other organ involvement most of the times.
Thank you for your suggestion Maatson.
However, after reading a lot about your suggestion, I came to the conclusion that it doesn't seem to apply to me.
Reasons why:
- I don't suffer Raynaud's phenomenon
- My skin isn't really thickened. It's more being forced into my skull if I say that in proper English
- Although it is a bit red in those ridges on my head, it doesn't really change color or get colored spots/circles like I read on different pages
- So far I haven't had any organ problems
Best thing I think is to visit another dermatologist and to make a CT/MRI scan...
If you have any more suggestions, please let them know!
Thanks again
Possibly Linear Morphea.(Coup de sabre). Biopsy would confirm diagnosis.
Thank you for your comment.
As far as I know there aren't any other symptoms.
Could you tell me what an imaging study is? Take pictures and compare them with other people who have it or?
My next step indeed is going to another dermatologist.
I'm also going to talk to my doctor about taking a CT scan. Perhaps my skin isn't the problem, but my skull is???
If you have any more advice, please let me know.
Nick
Hi,
I understand your concern regarding the difficulty in diagnosing your skin ridges. What other symptoms are present and was there an imaging study done? You may also benefit from seeking another dermatologist's opinion and have imaging studies done such as xray or CT scan to help with the diagnosis. Take care and do keep us posted.
