looking for clues

I am a 32 year old female. Since I was 13, I have had intermittent right side abdonimal pain that could be quite severe. It was always thought to be painful ovulation or ovarian cysts. I had my ovary removed last year, but still experience the same syptoms. I have also had "cluster" headaches right behind my left eye for the past 3 years (episodes about 1-2 x/month). I also have frequent night sweats and left side muscle twitching and weakness/numbness in my left arm and leg over the past year. All blood/urine/CT tests are normal. I thought I was onto something in looking into porphyria (acute), but the hematologist who did the tests actually yelled at me, "you don't have porphyria!" when I was asking questions at my second appointment to review results of tests. I've also felt like doctors feel I am overdramatic, faking, whatever. I would like to see any other avenues to explore. Thank you!

Thanks for the response. I do seem to be sensitive to weather changes and living in WI, it can be 75 degrees one day and then 32 and snowing the next, it also affects my mood quite a bit. It's interesting you mention motion sickness because I have always been VERY prone to this and usually have to make sure I have some plastic bag or something with me on long trips...hmmm, thanks!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!

Three possibilities come to my mind; chronic involvement of appendix (many a times ultrasound misses this as the appendix in such cases is hidden behind loops of intestine and typical symptoms of appendicitis are  absent), involvement of kidney and inflammation of your intestine. Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. An ultrasound or CT scan of abdomen is definitely required.
Refer: http://www.abdopain.com/lower-right-abdominal-pain.html for the various causes of right lower abdomen pain.
The headaches you have could be atypical migraines. A migraine attack without the classical symptoms of aura, headache and nausea is classified as atypical migraine. A silent migraine, ocular migraine etc are all examples of atypical migraine. Generally this occurs in response to weather changes, spasm of blood vessels of the brain, insufficient sleep, motion sickness and exposure to bright lights.

Hope this helps. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
