Another just for fun question!

In 2014, I'm hoping to get to know people better and I know I always enjoy these types of questions so thought I'd try to do more of it on the forum.  

So, this just for fun question is-------  what is your favorite time of the year and why!

Ha, never thought of my birthday.  Hm.  Yes, I DO like that day an awful lot!!  

So for me . . .   I used to list Fall as my favorite.  I just love that time of year--  the colors, the way it smells when people start having fires, the temp getting chillier.  Very cozy.  

Then I would have said Winter because I love to bundle up and hang in.  Fire in the fireplace, movie on while it is snowing?  That is a comforting and beautiful picture in my mind.  Plus, I've often loved Christmas so much (although this year was a rough one).

Spring is obviously good because of the warming temperatures and I love the bulbs that pop through.  

But NOW, my former least favorite time of year is now my most favorite.  I love early summer.  June.  My kids are newly off school and we are about to spend the summer together.  We are carefree, swimming, playing, hanging.  I just love the way that feels.  So, I don't absolutely love heat . ..  I love that time of year for what we are doing at that time.

Hi. I've been on MH for eons but have never posted here. I find your question so interesting for a lot of reasons.

When I was quite young, I always loved summer best. My birthday is in July, and it was fun to get gifts so far from Christmas. Plus there was swimming, hanging out with my friends, and of course, no school. Even after college and into the world of work, summer just seemed so 'cool.'

After quite a few years, I still loved summer, but I began to love spring just as much. Maybe it was because I became a bit of a gardener. All that anticipation, watching and seeing glorious results. And the gorgeous flowering trees! I still adore dogwoods and weeping cherry trees, and redbuds. Such fun to drive where I could see all the beauty.

Then, much later, I found that fall was wonderful. I had retired from an academic career, and when I wasn't stressed to the max by the new academic year, September became fabulous. A long, lazy stretch, still very much summer in my part of the world, but much less heat. Heavenly. October, of course, has always been delightful. I think everyone who loves nature loves October.

Now I'm old, or on the very verge of being old. The weather at the moment is so cold it's almost setting a record. I always used to hate winter, but now I really don't mind it so much. I've learned to live in the moment, because that's all we have. No more wishing for the future, for me.

I LOVE THE FALL! To me its the perfect time of year! Beautiful weather.. Not to hot, not to cold... Everything is changing colors, the leaves are falling! It's a serene time of year for me.

Sorry. I go  where I want to make every season of the year perfect for me, so not a fair question !  Usually I like Costa Rica this time of year. Our lake house is too cold now, & we prefer to ski in Spring. I'll go there in April.
The high desert is always nice, but my husband likes to live at the beach, in July & August & Sept. The ocean water is cool, but we usually swim in the pool. If one place is dreary. I go somewhere where I like it.
   Costa Rica is in the Dry season now. On the Pacific side we still experience rain. That's ok. Here I adore the rain. I like a nice view. I also like to play music without bothering people. So here, rather than just a season is great.
  I'm also thrilled when I get back to the USA & I can drive my jeep or the Porsche.   In the high desert where my business is located, I rather ride my bike.  The sky is very clean there & winter air crisp, while sun is hot.
     I love diversity. Variety is the spice of life.     Pamela
