well normally for mothers day (this is my first offical mom's day since i was only pregnant last year) i'd get her a card and make her breakfast then we'd all (her, my brother and i) would go out to dinner. THIS year...hubby and i are sending his mom, my mom, nana and grams flowers and cards (if you go look around online you can find some really good deals for mothers day...we were able to get 4 bouqets for $20/dozen) while i get to relax at home with my boys. of course hubby is making me breakfast and he's either going to cook me my favorite dinner or we're going out. not sure yet.
Well the problem with flowers is that the flowers themselves are only $20 but given where my mom lives for delivery, the shipping charge to get there on Mother's Day is another $30+ :S Thanks for the input!
My mother has passed away now, but I would always send a card and call her to wish her Happy Moms Day and tell her I love her. My own children would do the same for me. Some would send flowers or stop by for a visit, while others would call me. My husband usually takes me out to eat or something so it has never been an issue. Dont overthink it. Just wish your mom a happy moms day, let her know you are thinking of her and go about your day. As long as she gets that call she will not be offended at all. Or should I say, she shouldnt be.
Call a florist that is in your moms town. It is a lot cheaper and usually better flowers to boot.
Well it is good to read "shouldn't" be - it makes me feel a lot better! I guess I always thought at some point you had to "pass the torch" if you will, because your kids grow up. I would want my daughter-in-laws to have very special mother's day... Anyway, I guess maybe it is harder because I am the oldest and the only one married and with kids :S I will look into local flowers and see if that is cheaper. Thanks for the comments!
