trouble with my mother

what do you do when you are 24 and live own your own and have a mother who want to tell you every little thing to do in life. When i try to express my feeling she think that im being disrespectful

My mom is the same way... but I'm 24 wit 2children... its caused relationship problems wit my fiance n I... its to where he doesn't want our children to go over there.. my mom is good for guilt trips... n than I feel bad cuz she cries.... but I haven't been going over there or talking to her/my dad very much jus bcuz I'm tired of it... all u can do is do for u... I'm learning that... they say its cuz my fiance is controlling but its not, its cuz I'm tired of being told how to live, where to live n how to raise/puinsh my children....
Best advice I can give is... jus blow up n tell her how u feel, let her call u or whatever... lol

My mom is the same way. She has to have a say in every little thing I do. But since I moved out I have told her less so therefore she can't chime in. That how I handle it because I love my mom and don't want to hurt her. I am an only child and I think that has a lot to do with it. I still talk to her almost everyday just about things that she can give advice about and not end up mad at her.

R u an only child? It just sounds to me like Mom is having a hard time being anything other than your MOM. Normal is what it is..... Tune her out and do your own thing and eventually she will notice you are not listening. Do it with a smile on your face and remember you mom loves you more than anyone in the world. Do not disrespect her in the process and eventually the relationship will change to a more adult on adult format. Also normal.

I'd begin to distance myself from the mom slowly, so she can figure out that I have my own life.  Fewer phone conversations, changing the subject when she has an opinion of my life, etc.  If she tries to tell you every little thing to do, say, "Hey, see any good movies lately?"  If she doesn't get the hint, tell her that you have to sign off now.
