Is there help

I have just read about many other people being afflicted with this Chronic cough, eyes watering, nose dripping, stress incontinence, coughing, coughing, excess mucous, choking, can't catch my breath, sometimes I vomit because I'm coughing so violently, oh and I beltch so long and loud, everyone around me is disgusted.  Like some of you it is truly beginning to affect my ability to work and live.  I work in the Corporate World and it is really impacting me severely.  I have had this health problem since 1995, so 14 years and it is worsening.  Sometimes lately when I cough my entire body goes into pins and needles and it's frightening.  I am so fed up, words can't even express.  I have seen three GI Specialists and the most recent tests reveal no abnormalities detected.  Last week saw the second ENT Specialist in 14 years who said "can't see any problems with your throat or nose" but take this Nasonex and I'll recommend that the last recourse might be to put you on a course of Prednisone (Corticosteroids) to break the cycle of coughing.  Is there no one in the Medical world that has a clue?  The Pulmonary Specialist gave me a Sleep study and said well, no sleep apnoea but maybe you have Reflux induced Asthma, so take this Symbiocort twice daily???  So I'm like all the people who are afflicted with this and are mystified as to what it is and why it happens.  I suffer from this no matter what, even after drinking water I will feel a sudden presence of mucous and the uncontrollable need to cough and spit...then there I am glued to the bathroom sink....it's a nightmare.  One of the writers suggested we all write to Dr. Oz and ask for his help....GREAT IDEA, if he can't find the best Medical minds to assist in solving this puzzle, no one can.

I have told my husband that he has to move on to the next doctor.  We have been fighting the chronic cough for 10 years. He passed out again this weekend.  I refuse to ride in the car with him any more and won't let my child ride with him either. It's an every day thing. He has slept on a CPAP machine for 8 years now and sometimes I still move to the guest room some nights. I mostly ignore him when he coughs because he gets mad if I make a big deal.  However, I try to catch him before he hits the floor if he passes out.   Like everyone else, I just can't believe one of the 5 doctors he regularly visits can't figure out what to so.  We have several nasal inhalers, hydrocodone for coughing, acid reflux meds, etc. Blood vessels burst in his face and on his back from the heavy coughing. I read something recently about cinnamon and honey twice a day helping with chronic cough.  We also tried the cayenne pepper and vinegar.  Besides being nasty, I didn't notice any change.

Dr Oz is a nationally famous Cardic Surgeon who is often on Oprah.  He is brilliant and all those who are writing postings on this site with exactly the same symptoms as me have contacted him to attempt to cooerce him into doing a show about our symptoms.

Who is Dr Oz?

I've been to the ENT and Thoracic clinics at my local hospital in London five time over the past year but my persistent coughing continues.  The specialist's I have seen there appear now to have exhausted their repertoire as I am now been asked to try some of the prescriptions again!

I have had chronic and persistent catarrh for many years but a year ago, following a nasty cold involving much harsh coughing, I developed also a persistent tickle in the throat and the coughing continued relentlessly.  The cataarh is tolerable but the coughing is killing me by slow degrees.  Can you or anyone help?
