Itchy throat leading to dry cough and vomit after morning coffee

For some background info I'm a 22 year old male, and I've had a cold for the past week or two (it's almost over, there's still some coughing going on but normally only during exercise), I've been drinking coffee for years with no issues, and I have seasonal allergies.

Yesterday when I drank my morning coffee I felt a itch in the right side of my throat, and began coughing heavily and ended up vomiting. It went away after that, I had assumed it was a hair from my Cat who's shedding. However, today I had the same thing happen, and the itch in my throat has been lingering for the past two hours. I don't feel like eating anything, and when I drink something (even just water) I get the same feeling.

The vomit was like the color of my coffee (light brown due to all the milk and sugar) but with a yellowish tint in it (probably from the beer I consumed last night, maybe stomach acid, I'm not sure).

I'm just wondering what's going on, and if I should waste the time and money going to the doctor?
