involuntary gasps/hiccuping

I have read quite a few of these people that have the same problem that I do.  I have had problems for over a year and a half.  It has gotten worse in the last couple of weeks.  The lung specialist basically told me that all people take deep breaths during the day???  They just can't understand.  I took my husband in with me to my primary and he hasn't come up with anything.   I have sleep apea and have a new mask, have had an endoscopy, along with breathing tests, etc.  Is there anyone that has had any luck with a diagnosis???  I am at the end of my rope with all this.  I have GURD and all that going on, too.  Plus heart disease.  There has to be an answer.
Thanks,
Lucille

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Use the CPAP regularly for relief from obstructive sleep apnea. If oxygenation is still inadequate supplemental oxygen therapy may help. With medications you can try life style measures for GERD. Take frequent small meals. Eat dinner about two hours before sleeping. Elevate the head end of the bed. Keep a food diary and note down what aggravates your symptoms and avoid them. Ensure to maintain optimum weight by regular exercise. Avoid non steroidal  anti inflammatory medications NSAID's, quit smoking, eliminate alcohol and reduce stress levels. These measures need to be practiced long term for results.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Get extra oxygen into the lungs and heart with this technique. Do not give up before 20 weeks, as this works gradually. You will be able to help others, when you notice some benefit in a few weeks.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom pranayam –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.
