Gonorrhea and HIV Co-infections?

Hello,

I was  recently diagnosed with Gornorrhea, the doctor gave me antibiotics. I was also got tested for HIV and the result was negative. But right now, I am terrified because CDC links gonorrhea and hiv co-infection. I don't exactly when I got the gonorrhea, but I believe maybe within 2 months only, and I got treated. My question is, was there a chance that I might have been exposed to HIV as well? assuming the person who gave me gonorrhea was also co-infected with HIV? I am very terrified now as the negative result I got from HIV was too soon, and the test might have not picked up. Please advise on this as I'm really scared. The pass 3 months I only performed unprotected oral sex, no orgasm inside my mouth, but there could have been cuts and I didn't notice. I had done oral sex with different persons lately. What are the chances of me getting the HIV as well? Please advise.

Thank you.

Just as the concern of Fleetwood20. Did you also get oral sex? Because if you only preformed oral sex, how is it possible to have gonno in your Urine? If you really only preformed oral sex the only way to possible is to have gonno in your throat (which is self limiting anyway) so have you forgotten a possible exposure with your penis?

Because with oral sex, normally without cum the chance on HIV is almost zero and also for other STD's. Only herpes has a reasonable chance and also a minimum chance on Syphilis. With preforming deep throat Gonno would be possilbe(but as I mentioned before would be self limiting quite quickly).

I had my HIV begative result the same day that I got my urine tested for gonorrhea. Gonorrhea turned out positive. But it's about 8 days to be exact, that I felt symptoms, burning during urination on my penis. My concern is HIV since gonorrhea is a curable disease. What was my chance of getting HIV through unprotected oral sex? What if the HIV found it's way entering from my uretha? Can I get infected with that?

This is unusual. To test positive by urine most likely requires unprotected sex (your penis entering) or you receiving unprotected oral.

Have you had a HIV test, they are definitive after 28 days from exposure.

It seems like an improbable outcome has occurred. Being a urine test, then the bacteria most probably gained entry through you urethra. By far and away the key chance of infection are from unprotected anal or vaginal sex or very rarely receiving unprotected oral sex.

Given you have had a number of encounters, HIV testing may not be a bad idea, it will be negative to give you confidence and is definitive after 28 days if it has checked for antigen and antibodies.

they tested my positive with Urine. :-(.. but I had never done unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. we rubbed each other's genitals till we reach orgasm if that's too much information. Do you think the semen could have come into the uretha of my penis?

I'm terrified. I think it could.

What test did you have that revealed positive for gon? Throat swab, urine?

Odds of being infected through swallowing semen of a HIV infected male are about 1 in 1,000 conservatively.

Thanks,

I am a male giving unprotected oral sex to males. None of them came in my mouth. But I must admit I tasted their pre-cum sometimes. I had HIV test at the time I had gonorrhea test. HIV was negative. What I'm concerned is that gonorrhea symptoms come earlier than HIV. for Example, if I had given unprotected oral sex with a male that has HIV and gonorrhea 10 days ago, the test might show positive in gonorrhea but not HIV. So I'm really scared now. Was my chance of getting HIV from oral sex at this scenario high? Please advise.

Thanks again.

The main link is that you have had unprotected sex with potentially a higher risk partner.

Are you male or female? having sex with males or females?

When did you have your HIV test relative to the possible infection with Gon? Was it an antigen plus antibody test?
