protected sex is a risk for syphilis, hpv and herpes. you have to wait at least 6 weeks post encounter for syphilis testing and 3 months for herpes testing. we don't have commercially available tests to cover the hpv testing base properly.
you really don't need tested for hiv from a one time protected encounter.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply you have been a great deal of help. I have still decided to get tested just to be safe. I'm going to wait another 3 weeks though and get an HIV DUO at the 4 week mark and a full panel just so I know I'm in the clear.
Much regards
You had a protected encounter and there wasn't any risk from it. Most commercial sex workers are often tested and do not want to risk catching anything on the job, not only for the customer's sake but their sake too. If there were any tears or damage done on the condom, you can be sure it wouldn't be a small one, it would have been an obvious big one. Her attitude about changing condoms on you pretty much is a big indicator she is also taking regard about her sexual health so the likelihood of anything being transmitted is none existent. Symptoms do not matter because there can be other reasons why you felt sick those two days. It could have been a garden variety bug you picked up, an occasionally cold, or the drinking you did because alcohol can do that sometimes.
When condoms break you can clearly see it as nothing but the ring is really left to hold on to. I would not be concerned with a STD.
Hi and welcome. Well you wouldnt get a STD in your throat from having protected vaginal sex only a low risk if you gave oral. Also you were at low risk for contracting herpes so i would not worry you got anything. But since she has sexual exposure to many people, i think your making the right decision for full testing but im sure all is ok as this is very low risk,
