Levaquin won't cure gonorrhea, but would cure chlamydia.
No signs of infection can mean no white blood cells in your urine, or it could mean all the tests we did were negative. You need to find out exactly what tests were run.
One more thing...
In addition to the pelvic area pain I am having some abdominal pain associated with it. The Dr. thought I had stomach bug and put me on Leviquin for 4 weeks and them switched me to Amoxicillin for another two weeks to no relief. I read that Leviquin is the drug of chioce for gonorrhea but I'm not sure about chlamydia or NGU. Do you think the meds that I was on (both antibiotics) would have erradicated the STD issue for me???
I'm wondering,,,if I'm still having pain that maybe it can't be an STD as I was on antibiotics for so long.....Your thoughts???
Thanks again!!!
Aj,
Thanks for your response! Are gonorrhea, chlamydia or NGU routine tests that are done when one is told to give a urine sample? I did give urine for all three Urologists but I'm not sure what they generally look for. Although, I do remember a Dr. telling me that my urine shows "no infection". Also, can you tell me how long does it take to get back results for gonorrhea, chlamydia or NGU? Is that an immediate response or does it need to be cultured?
Thanks!!!
I'd doubt this is an std, but you might test for them to just rule things out. If it is an std, it would probably be gonorrhea, chlamydia or NGU. Those are urine tests.
