Time of transmitting

Is it possible for an outbreak to occur within hours of sexual activity?  They say sexual activity or trauma to that area can cause this.  I had no visible sores to but noticed the area redish on the nead of my penis hours after having sex.  Nothing hurts or burns

I have lived with herpes for more than 10 years.  Never have I had an outbreak right after sex no matter how rough it was.  Maybe a day or two but never hours.

Thank you for the insight.  What about if it it not the primary?  Is it possible that a sore like that could appear that quickly if it was not the first outbreak?  I have seen a spot like this before in the same place however there is never any pain or itching.  I am schedule to be tested soon.  From what I have read a herpes sore is usually painful.
