Sythilis ?

Is it best to wait 2 months for a sythilis test. Shall I do that at 8 weeks or is the test (negative) at 5 weeks and 3 days good enough ? Meaning I don't need to re test at 8 weeks ???

Question?

Would a 7 day course of doxycyline get rid of syphilis if you had it in the early stage. I see that doxy can be given to treat shyphilis ?

Thanks Vance2335 - there is a lot of conflicting information regarding the test time for syphilis (6 weeks - 6 months) Your comment of 6 weeks being fine has helped me feel better. Also Dr Hook stated 6 weeks to be conclusive. (glad my burning throat issue isn't an extra sign) I am due to get HIV combo re test done again this week (8 week mark) so might as well get tested for syphilis again as they will offer to do so. (after these results I will be moving on with my life).

Will be Testing again at 8 weeks. Will this be a very good indicator ? Is having a burning throat (feels like tonsillitis) starting at week 4 and still sore after 3 weeks a sign of potential syphilis ? Again I did test negative at 5 and a half weeks for this and HIV after unprotected sex with female. Had discomfort burning in tip of penis every since and the feeling of needing to wee a lot !
