stresses and worries

Hello,

I need someone to ease my stress.

Two days ago, I was using a public toliet and I dropped my keys in the toliet. I panicked and fished them out of the seemingly dirty toliet and rinsed them with water before putting them in my backpack.  The next day, I washed the keys with soap and ran warm water over them.  A few minutes later, when my hands and arms were full from carrying stuff, I foolishly used my mouth to carry my keys without thinking.

Later that day, I noticed my throat feeling strange and now today I feel like my throat is sore and my neck aches a little. Did I catch an STD or a disease from putting the keys in my mouth? Or am I just freaking myself out and anything I feel right now is simply a coincidence?

I am seriously freaking out. Can someone help ease my stress?

Hi, absolutly no risk for contracting any disease. they are not passed that way and the water also contains chlorine which kills most everything. Not even an issue.

Thanks for the comment.

Is it safe to assume that my sore throat and general bad feeling is unrelated then? I only ask because I didnt start feeling ill at all until after the toliet incident.

Is it possible that I caught a common cold or illness from the incident and I am feeling the affects of if?

I also just started the gym again last Sunday after a year-long hiatus... the gym was quite crowded.  Perhaps I caught a common bug there and am just now feeling the effects?

Sorry for my silly questions... I am a married man and do not want to make my wife ill. I am afraid to even kiss her right now :-(
