bottom line is you need to be seen at this point for further evaluation since symptoms have returned.

The itching Sounds like you inflamed the area after masturbating. If a culture grows they will know what is growing. Takes some time about a week or so.
Ok, as a follow up, I have been using the canasten and it appeared to work, but after mastuabation the other night the small patch seemed to flare up almost, its very red and itchy now and other areas of my penis are really itchy also. The other areas look red and shiney silvery. Still awaiting the std results. I have a few further questions, with these new patches and the intense itching, is there a condition this sounds like? They swabbed the patch, will they be able to tell what it is definitively? How long do results usually take for that. Thanks again Nikki
If the cream is working then stop googling . If your worried you might want to have a full screening for all possible contractions but as grace advised use the cream for now. If you concerned about herpes then post in the herpes forum as is specific
bit worried it could be an std because it showed up after oral sex and from the articles ive read herpes can resemble a rash?

Yes that a good sign for sure.. you lost me on the herpes question.
Just to follow up,
I have started using an anti fungal cream and it appears to be working. The patch looks a lot less sore, its smaller and its drying up. Is this a good sign? also would an std like herpes react in the same manner?
Thanks for all your help so far.
The most common yeast infection is vaginal thrush. Male thrush or penile yeast infection is also fairly common.
A male can become infected with thrush if he has sexual intercourse with an infected sexual partner.
Treatment consists of over-the-counter (OTC) anti-fungal creams and ointments. People with a weak immune system may require closer medical supervision.
Not yet, do you suspect its a fungal infection from my description? could that have been sexually transmitted?
have you tried an antifungal cream yet?
