Correction, youve been touching this area since march 24!!!!!!!
Hi alice i have an idea. Since your looking for professional advise and not content with the replies here maybe post in the expert forum where a doctor will advise you. I believe there is slight fee but at least your mind will be at ease. I would say the sex made it red and irritated you and also youve been touching and checking this area for over a week now and im sure its not helping.
Your just fine and youll look back at this incident as anxiety induced only and will make you a better person. Your risk was very low.
Hi all I got my period on monday and i noticed some red bumps yesterday between my vagina and bum. I thought it's about time i get over this anxiety and put it down to sanitary towels rubbing and that i've just never noticed this before. (the dry skin i mentioned before was just after my last period)
Then this morning i had sex... but it didnt last long so it def wasn't rough sex.. and now i have really red cracked skin on my vagina... some of it is deep red like its been rubbed raw completely. And i have dry skin on the very outer of my vagina.... but suspiciously like how a pad could have rubbed it?
I just can't see a pad causing such red raw wounds.. but maybe mixed with sex? I can't see anyone until monday and i'm so worried it's herpes :-( please help.
Hi Grace, thank you for the reply.
I didn't get tested for yeast, I thought I would wait for my results from gonorrhea and chlamydia and take it from there. But all symptoms seemed to disappear by approx 21st April... so I don't think I have anything to test for currently! The timing of symptoms makes me believe it fits with the length of an outbreak?
I did have a white dot (maybe 2?) on my labia but the first time I noticed that fitted with when I shaved and cut myself down there (oops) in that exact place so could have been that. They were barely noticeable, I could only see them in particular light, and didn't hurt from what i recall but the redness on my vagina was partly around that area (and mostly right at the entrance to my vagina). Are you still convinced it's likely to not be herpes?
What do you think my next step should be (I'm still avoiding intimacy with my partner, much to his dismay!) ... is there anything I can do right now?
Thanks for reading.
did you ever go back and follow up on this again with testing for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally? your symptoms are far more suggestive of a yeast infection than they are stds.
none of this sounds like herpes going on.
grace
Thanks you for the kinds works. We are all in this together and thats why God made more than one person. To share lifes experiences with eachother.
Thank you - I hope you realise how much of a help you have been. I will go back to the clinic and see if they recommend a blood test as you advise. Honestly though, I know I've been stressing like crazy, but if it hadn't been for your input - I would feel entirely lost. :-)
Normally when there is a low risk involved, most medical experts would advise to test to eliminate the low risk factor before exposing others. The wait and see for symptoms only applies if there is no loved one involved.
Thank you I really appreciate your input. Not a lot I can do right now since the symptoms have gone and not reached the 3 month mark for a blood test. But I suppose just wait and see if anything comes back.
Am I ok to have sex with my partner since symptoms have gone?
As Grace said, just follow up with your GYN so you can be at peace. If i had a million dollars, i would bet it all in a heartbeat that your clean as a whistle.
One final question I swear then I will stop posting as think I've had all the info you can give!!
After speaking with 3 different medical professionals, they all say I would know if i had a herpes outbreak as it is really painful and obvious... so why does everything I read on the internet contradict this and say it is not at all obvious and most have mild symptoms, if any? Which is correct?
I can't get a blood test through the NHS apparently due to the fact they are expensive and misleading. I can't have a swab since only soreness remains - nothing to swab. I am just going to have to continue on hope.
Maybe I will have to end my relationship to be on the safe side? It's no more than what I deserve anyway I guess.
Yeah okay I hear you. Thank you again for your continued support.
Alice, i have a feeling that if you dont get tested you will be having restless nights till who knows when, Im suggesting testing only to put this behind you so you can move on with your life. If you dont then you will be at this forum asking untill were up to about 200 replies if you get where im coming from!
Oh, my boyfriend has been itching down there a fair bit.. but we havent even done anything.... could i have passed it on from spooning when sleeping??
Hi Life360, thank you very much for your reply.
The thing about getting tested is that now the cut has vanished (in a day?!) and I only have soreness. So can I still be tested? And I've heard false negatives aren't uncommon. The soreness isn't severe until I start touching the area with my finger.... to check if it's still sore *doh!*
... do you think maybe I should just try to move on from all this? I keep thinking what is the likelihood of me actually having caught herpes from one encounter.. without penetration.. it must be low?
I feel as if the doctor is just going to be wondering what he is supposed to be looking at... because there isn't a lot to look at symptom wise..
I just don't want to ruin my relationship!! I feel in such a mess :'-(
To rest your mind, as can tell there is still doubt, why dont you go complete these tests that Grace mentions and throw in the herpes one also. You most likely having normal female problems but with the lingering doubt is not good for you as stress can really mess a persons mind up and when the mind is messed up the body will follow.
Follow up with all the tests so you can go about your life again. Its really the best thing to do considering your mental state.
Hi,
Sorry to post again - I know this has been going on too long but I've got what looks like a cut (deep red, not bleeding) about on my vagina near my clit and soreness with longish lines (possibly tiny cuts) on one side of my vagina. Then right at the entrance to my vagina it's sore to touch. Could this be herpes? I've read online it can be. I was inspected visually and nothing was found but I only noticed this yesterday myself. Obviously some sort of sensation has been going on a while.
I am negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea by the way. They didn't test for yeast.
Any advice or opinions greatly appreciated.
call and ask. they dropped the ball if they didn't.
No he didn't as far as I know.. only gonorrhea and chlamydia.
did he also test for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too?
Hi guys. A bit of an update - I went to see a doctor and he told me I had pretty much zero risk of having contracted anything. He continued by saying he was in his right mind to just send me away at that but since I was feeling paranoid allowed me to take a test for gonorrhea and chlamydia (NHS so it's all free). He said if anything is found from the testing I'm likely to hear by monday, latest next wednesday. Also got a visual check for anything. Doctor said it all looked normal.
I insisted I have symptoms but he didn't even ask what they were. All he said was pretty much that it was my brain focusing too much on that particular area. I swear they've got worse though. Some kind of sharp pain down in the womb area and still itching and burning. Any reason to still be worried about these feelings? I don't know how much longer I can avoid sex with my partner without him getting really suspicious! I know it's wrong that this has happened. I will never ever be so stupid to risk my relationship and cause hurt like this in the future.
Thank you for your on-going support. I can't stress how much I have appreciated your input.
yep - that can do it too!
Thank you for your reply Grace. I have considered the possibility of a yeast infection - just seems coincidental it's happening now but then guess I have been irritating the area a bit with my constant examinations!
