discharge

Almost three weeks ago I started getting a discharge and a frequent urge to urinate with only small amounts coming out.  At first I thought it was urinary and my doctor tested for a UTI.  Nothing there, but put me on 5 days of cipro just in case.  I went to get a ultrasound, no inflammation of the prostrate or bladder, all signs normal.  My **** started burning and there was general irritation in the uretha, but no apparent blood in the ****.  The discharge, I noticed, looked a bit like mucous or precum.  I remembered my ex-girlfriend, my last partner, who I was with 3 months ago, had ureaplasma urealitycum, but the doctors said it was nothing to worry about and normal.  While with her, both of us had STD tests for gonohrrea and chlamydia, both negative (neither of us had symptoms at the time, it was just to be safe).  So i assumed I now had u. urealitycum, my doctor put me on 500mg of azithromycin a day for three days to cover all the bases.  Took it, the urethritis cleared up and there's no more burning.  BUT there still is a mucous discharge.  It's been three days since my last dose of azithromycin.  My question is, will the mucuous soon go away or is its continuance a sign of a completely different infection?

The word blocked out is "urine".  I guess it doesn't like the other version of the word. Sorry, wasn't thinking on the description.

Tough to say without knowing exactly what you have. Best advice is to follow up with your Dr if symptoms don't stop after 2 weeks after medication is finished.
