Syphilis Confusion

Hi, I've been with my girlfriend for over a year & all was well until I recently got a physical that tested me positive for Syphilis at level 2. The comes from my gf also being tested and, she tests negative. Doc who tested her strongly suggests she questions if I was with anyone else during our relationship & gave little room for other scenarios. Whilr I know this is a regular thing with guys, I've been faithful to her - and my family doc contradicts clinic doc by noting how it is a good likelyhood that my inactive state of syphilis was in me for well over a year & not contagious enough to spread into her. This even with the fact we had moments of unprotected sex & sheepskin condoms the last time we had intercourse which I know is not good for STD protection.
Thus I guess I need a more medical explanation for how I've had this for longer than a year yet not spread it despite putting her at much exposure to it over this past year.

No I never been with any men. I thought the tier # was 2? I know it's a number that goes 1, 2 , 4, 8, 16, etc. If that's it then yes I'm at 2. I had gotten a couple blow jobs & some lightwlight making out but going back a few years  is when I was really active sexually as far as penis/vagina intercourse goes.

Did they give you a Tier#?

Syphilis is rare to get from women in America. Have you had sex with any men?

I'm from America.
I'm just weirded out since I never noticed any of the syptoms like any noticable sores on face or genitals. Maybe one outbreak on my foot a long while ago but I chalked it up to athletes feet. I took another test last week and I'm still at a level of 2.

Really an impossible answer to give as can't say how long you had it for or did you get a false positive?

If you did have syphilis then you most likely would have gotten a canker at about 21 days and then a rash after that. After those 2 things are over you are not contagious.

What country are you from?
