Papsmear result

So my papsmear result came back normal but for some non specific inflammation. Should I be worried abt this inflammation? Does the result also indicate that I am free of any STD? The doc says that if there were anything at all... the report wouldve sought the patient to further investigate. But I havent been told to do so. Also, I have itching in my anus for some time now. What does this mean? Do STD's cause anal itching?

both std and non-std bacterial infections can occur.

many things can be that - many things including irritation from tampons, discharge etc.  best you can do is to continue following up on this with your providers. I suggest monthly until your symptoms of itching are gone.

Thank you Grace and Vance.

Grace, when you say that its not likely to be due to a bacterial infection - would you be indicating non existence of an STD? Also, what kind of "many many things" may you be referring to? Serious?

Thanks again!

non-specific inflammation means that you have irritation going on but it's not likely to be due to a bacterial infection.  many, many things can cause this and it can also be contributing to your anal itching issues too.

continue to follow up with your provider to try to figure out what is causing your issues.

You would have to talk with your Dr about the inflamation.

You have to test for STD's in order to see if your STD free.

I don't know what anal itching means...see a Dr this is not a STD.
